Water Shutoff in the 200’s

Good morning, Park Sierra members.

Your water committee will be hard at work next Tuesday October 15, 2024, replacing a broken pipe at site 249.  This will require them to drain the water lines affecting all the 200’s.  The work will start at 8 am and should only take 2 or 3 hours to complete.  If you are in the 200’s please shut the water off to your RV and make sure you have water in your RV’s holding tank so you have access to water.  I will send an email out after the work is completed.  At that time, we highly recommend that you disconnect you water going to your RV and run it to flush any sediment that cam loose during the repair.  Run your water until it shows clear before hooking back up to your RV.

If you plan on doing laundry that day, please run the water in the sink to make sure that the water is clear before putting any clothes in the washers.

Happy Trails,
Dave Mulqueeney, Park Manager

Board of Directors July 2024 Blog Update

Hello all, this is your new board president, Jeff Land, writing what I hope will become a monthly blast to update you on board doings and maybe a personal rant or two from me.

Maybe top of mind for most of us as we see our monthly statement is solar. To do a quick overview of the plan, we are contracted to a ppa provider (power purchase agreement) that will sell us power generated by the solar panels at a certain rate. This rate has yet to be determined between us and the ppa but will be much lower than the pg&e rate we now pay. We are guaranteed this rate for the next 25 years!! They get the solar field built with all the resultant power infrastructure. All the work done by the provider costs us $0.00. The provider gets all tax breaks in return. They would not be involved if this wasn’t lucrative for them but we pay zero dollars for this system and the maintenance involved. As any large project goes there is a lot, I mean a lot of work going on behind the scenes before building will start. Please be patient, this will be a great thing when it happens. Wish I had a date for you but I don’t but the solar committee has bi-weekly meeting updates with the ppa provider. Please know that this program IS happening.

Also, know your board of directors has ongoing meetings this summer to keep up on the running of the park, we are here working for the members and the good of the park.

I got a little long-winded here but you’ll here from me next in August. Have a cool July, it’s possible isn’t it?

Happy RVing.

Jeff Land
President of Park of the Sierras BOD
